The County Chalet

It is here that the cheesemakers of the Jura Terroir fruit producer manufacture and refine numerous wheels of Comté on a daily basis.

Of particularly monitored quality, the milk collected every day from surrounding farms is processed here according to the rules of the art and according to precise specifications, in order to obtain a cheese of excellence. The cooperative also obtained the silver medal at the Concours Général Agricole de Paris 2019 for its County. It offers four varieties: the sweet, the fruity, the “more than 18 months of maturation” as well as a certified organic Comté. All tastes are in nature !

The fruitiere's store is located just a few meters from the manufacturing site, in a recently renovated wooden chalet... In addition to the essential Comté (must be tasted!), there are various Franche-Comté cheese specialties: Morbier, Bleu de Gex, Mont d’Or (autumn and winter), raclette, pressed dough tomme…

Other “local” products, from local artisanal businesses, complete the display: dairy products and cold meats of all kinds (Ah! local cured meats!), but also Jura wines, traditional lemonades, fruit juices, honey, jams… A thousand and one reasons to indulge – those with a sweet tooth have been warned!
