Valempoulières fruit farm

In the small town of Valempoulières, the fruit farm has been at the heart of local life for over a century. Today run by the cheesemaker, Nicolas Maréchal, Séverine and Virginie at the store, it brings together 10 members, producing 4 million liters of milk. Thanks to Nicolas, his second and apprentice, this production is transformed into 410 tonnes of Comté per year, refined by Maison Arnaud, then offered in two refinements at the store. Since 2020, we also offer an organic county.

To understand everything about the functioning of the fruit farm and the Comté sector, from meadow to plate, we offer guided tours. By reservation only. You will discover the work of the cheesemakers, but also the pre-ripening cellars and their precious cheeses in the making.

At the store, you will be welcomed by Séverine or Virginie, who will of course offer you Comté, awarded a gold medal at the Paris 2019 agricultural show, but also Serrac, cream and fromage blanc produced on site. , as well as Nozeroy butter. Other cheese specialties complete the offer, such as Morbier, Bleu de Gex des Moussières, Mont d'Or in season, or even goat's cheese. And other essentially regional products.
