Glass painting

It is at the gates of Champagnole, in Ney, that Valérie Duval has been painting, for more than three decades, unique decorations on different glass supports.

Elected “Artisan of the Year” in 2009, she has specialized over time in this original artistic activity, and creates all her designs entirely by hand. Under her agile fingers, bottles, vases, plates, mirrors, lamps, baby bottles and other piggy banks are personalized - and it is with an ever-renewed passion that Valérie draws her brushes to respond to everyone's colorful desires.

If her favorite themes remain flowers, butterflies and Jura rural scenes, she also creates other motifs on demand - sometimes even portraits. And when she abandons glass, it is to turn to other materials (wood, metal, earthenware or plastic...) on which she demonstrates the same artistic sensitivity.

In her workshop which also serves as an exhibition-sales space, Valérie first draws a first sketch using “cern contour”. On this frame, she then applies the colors (made by herself with different pigments), and carefully refines the smallest detail. Once the decoration is completed, the object is put in the oven to fix the patterns using ultraviolet light, before going through the final stage - varnishing.

As for the visitor, he can either make a choice among the numerous creations on display, or order a personalized object from the artist. Result: a wide range of gift ideas for all tastes and budgets, and a 100% chance of finding THE original souvenir to bring back in your suitcases!
