The Dawn workshop

It was in 2020, after more than four years of practice and two years of training, that Florine Carbonneaux decided to open “L'Atelier de l'Aube” in the village of Pasquier - a space for the exhibition and sale of ceramics. artisanal. Specializing in “raku” ceramics, Florine uses this Japanese firing process every day in her workshop, as precise as it is delicate, which gives the pieces she creates subtle “crackles”.

Developed in the 16th century in the “Land of the Rising Sun” this method requires that the pieces be taken out of the oven while they are still incandescent; they are then immediately plunged into sawdust which ignites... The thermal shock then cracks the enamel and the smoke infiltrates directly into the cracks, marbling the object with fine black lines... and thus making each piece a unique work.

Florine strives to pass on her know-how by regularly organizing “raku” initiation workshops.
During the sessions reserved for children, they can make their own pieces by following the different stages of manufacturing - modeling, cooking, enamelling... Creative courses are also reserved for adults, through themed workshops set up throughout throughout the year and which generally take place over two days.

While crossing Le Pasquier, don't forget to stop at "L'Atelier de l'Aube", to discover the surprising creations of the ceramist - sculptures, decorative objects, tableware or jewelry...
